As a 2012 SF Marathon Ambassador, I’m available to all of you for training tips, questions on the race, hydration and fueling or pretty much anything you want to know about running. I’m a personal trainer on the side so don’t hesitate to ask me about general fitness as well.
This year, I’m once again instating runner meet ups in training for the SF Marathon. These will begin in April at the beginning of the training plan I have put together for the race. They will happen here in the Sacramento area on one of our lovely run/bike trails along the American River.
If you are interested in meeting up with me and your fellow SF Marathon runners, please e-mail me and I’ll add you to my race contact list! :)
Follow here for training updates, meet up schedules, etc. Looking forward to seeing you all out there!!

Hi Laura, I have a few questions on the training…
What does the training consist of?
Can people doing only the half still participate in the training?
What is the cost of training?
Your blog is very inspirational and encouraging! Sacramento is lucky to have you as their ambassador!
Thanks & look forward to hearing from you!
Hi Katie!
Thanks for the post! I checked out your blog, what a FUN and AWESOME goal you have set for yourself! I’m so excited you are thinking about training with us as part of it!
This “training” is more like a “meet up” program with weekend and some week day meet ups. It will consist of meet up runs on Sunday mornings (these are the long runs) and some speed/hill training on Tuesdays. It will start March 4. I have two training plans I can share with you, one for beginners and one for more advanced runners. They are the same on the distance miles with the weekday runs being different. Weekend runs are run in groups with approximately the same pace. Last year I had about 10-15 runners join us in two groups each weekend.
Yes, half marathon runners are more than welcome to join the full marathoners! You can come out whenever you are ready. If you want to come out for the whole program and just run half the distance of our longer runs at the end you can do that, or you can come out later and run half the distance then. Totally up to you.
The best part is there is NO cost! Just enter the race and come meet up! Simple as that.
I’m just an ambassador hoping to meet up with and help runners achieve their goals at the race.
If you want to send me your e-mail at lauralangerwerf@gmail.com I’m happy to add you to my e-mail distribution list.
Talk to you soon!
